In 2009, the United States was actively attacked by an electromagnetic pulse sent by a terrorist organization. As a result of such a brutal confrontation, the state literally turns into a Third-world country in a matter of days. A special group of bio-engineers is being created, which studies the genes of children, modifies them to create later an army consisting of unique soldiers. Among these guys was girl Max. The largest laboratory, where hundreds of scientists work, is called Manticore.

Soon on the territory of this research center there is a hard rebellion created by the test subjects. Max and several other children were among those who were lucky enough to escape from their pursuers. Despite its obvious genetic changes, the girl due to lack of modern technology can be long enough to hide from special agents involved in the search for escaped rebels. At the same time, she constantly tries to find other children. During her wanderings, the heroine of the series Dark angel, meets cyber journalist Logan, who becomes her ally.

In a future of political, economic and moral collapse, a genetically enhanced superhuman prototype named Max escapes from military confines and dwells amidst the decadent underground street life of *Seattle* to avoid government agents who want to bring her back into the fold. Searching for others of her kind who were scattered in the aftermath of her escape, Max encounters Logan, an idealistic cyber-journalist battling repression and corruption in post-apocalypse America. Eventually, Logan calls her to the highest part of her being and Max becomes his samurai as the pair takes on the ruthless power-brokers of the new millennium. Max and Logan's odyssey leads them closer to the secret of her past, deepening and complicating their relationship in the process. I agree with a previous poster that said the show needed better writers.and more specifically, better DIALOGUE writers.

I loved the show and wish it would have continued on for more seasons. I felt Jessica Alba did an excellent and convincing job acting with what she was given.
